The new information revealed by the Senate Homeland Security Committee about the FBI's alleged mishandling of the Hillary Clinton e-mail case -- including the FBI text "POTUS wants to know everything we're doing" -- raises "alarming questions about the extent of President Obama's involvement with FBI investigations," said House Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) in a Feb. 7 statement.
Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) argued Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, should step aside from his committee’s investigation of alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said that President Trump calls him on the phone periodically, and that he believes it's because he often comes to the president's defense on television.
"He cracks me up when he calls," Gaetz told BuzzFeed News.
"I think it’s because I defend him on television," the Florida Republican said, explaining why Trump calls him.
