Speaker McCarthy purposefully backed us up against the wall on spending bills and then sent everyone home at 3pm on a Thursday. This is not the French work week. We’re going to have to address his leadership after we get through this government funding crisis.

Senior military officials now tell me today that her comments are counter to the DOD’s promotion process. HASC Republicans must get to the bottom of this.

Speaker McCarthy deserves all the criticism and more because it's his fault that we haven't considered individual appropriations bills up to this point - like he said we would in January. That's not a bug in the system. It's a feature.

Speaker McCarthy did not stay on schedule moving the necessary spending bills that he said he would back in January. Because he failed, everyone's back is now against the wall. But the way out of this is not to revert to the old, corrupt muscle memory of Washington, D.C. with continuing resolutions. The way forward is to have single-subject spending bills.
