Congressman Matt Gaetz invites the community to join him for Military Service Academy Nights.

Service Academy Nights provide constituents with information regarding admission processes, Congressional Office nomination process and a chance to meet and ask questions of service academy representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy and University ROTC programs.

Service Academy Nights will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Pace High School in Pace, FL from 6 to 8p.m. and on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Niceville High School in Niceville, FL from 6 to 8 p.m.

Special guest speakers include: Mr. Jason Crawford of Pensacola and Lt. General Brad Webb, Commander of Air Force Special Operations Command.

Guest Speakers Backgrounds:

Jason Crawford most recently served for the last 5 years as the Chief Executive Officer for Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems (IRIS). The IRIS team has developed an FDA approved solution to more efficiently diagnose early stages of diabetic retinopathy, the leading cause of blindness in adults, in order to increase detection and early prevention. He is currently in the early phases of a new venture based in Pensacola, Florida.

Jason graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of West Florida. He served 8 years in the US Army Infantry with tours in Baghdad, Bosnia, and Korea. Jason was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal x2, Army Achievement Medal x3, and Air Assault Badge.

Prior to healthcare, Jason served as a consultant and business development director of the regional Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm Warren Averett in Pensacola, FL. He also worked as a business development director for a healthcare information technology company, Cogon Systems, Inc.

Jason is a Board Member of the Foundation for the University of West Florida and ECARE. He was a founding member and past chairman of the Pensacola Young Professionals and has been recognized as a Rising Star and one of the 40 Leaders under 40 in the Pensacola business community. He has served on the board of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce and as a Trustee for the University of West Florida.


Lt. Gen. Brad Webb is the Commander of Air Force Special Operations Command here at Hurlburt Field.


The command is the Air Force component of U.S. Special Operations Command.

AFSOC provides Air Force special operations forces for worldwide deployment and assignment to unified combatant commanders. The command has approximately 19,500 active-duty, Reserve, Air National Guard and civilian professionals.


General Webb graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1984. He is a command pilot with more than 3,700 flying hours, including 117 combat hours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia.

The general has commanded the 20th Special Operations Squadron, the 352nd Special Operations Group, the 1st Special Operations Wing, the 23rd Air Force, Special Operations Command Europe and NATO Special Operations Headquarters.

His staff assignments include duty at Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command, at the Joint Special Operations Command, and in Office of the Secretary of Defense.
