***MEDIA ADVISORY*** May 4th: Congressman Matt Gaetz to Host Northwest Florida Congressional Art Competition

Washington, D.C. – On Saturday, May 4th, Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) will host the annual Congressional Art Competition at the Mattie Kelly Art Center on Northwest Florida State College's campus in Niceville, FL. The theme for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition will be "Scenes of Northwest Florida."

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by members of the U.S. House of Representatives. During this time, high school students from across Florida's First Congressional District will showcase their artwork at the annual Congressional Art competition and compete to have their talents displayed in Washington, D.C.

A panel of local art professionals will judge the competition, and the winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from participating districts across the country.
