Congressman Matt Gaetz Votes for Securing America’s Future Act

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) issued the following statement today after voting in favor of H.R. 4760, the Securing America's Future Act, which was defeated in the House by a vote of 193–231:
“I was proud to vote for H.R. 4760, the Securing America’s Future Act. This bold, conservative immigration bill would have fulfilled many of President Trump’s immigration priorities: implementing mandatory E-Verify, ending chain migration, ending the diversity visa lottery, ensuring there was no path to citizenship for DACA recipients, and building America’s border wall. I am saddened that Democrats and moderate Republicans prevented its passage, which was a once-in-a-generation opportunity to fix America’s broken immigration system. I will continue to oppose broad-based amnesty for illegal aliens, and I will keep fighting to ensure that America’s borders are places where the rule of law is followed and enforced,” Rep. Gaetz said.
