Washington, D.C. — Congressman Matt Gaetz released the following statement on the Navy's favorable Environmental Impact Study recommending new training aircraft at Whiting Field:

"The robust military mission in Northwest Florida requires a modernized arsenal of aircraft to fully train our men and women in uniform. The Navy’s recent favorable Environmental Impact Study paves the way for the outdated TH-57 training helicopter to be replaced and augmented with new training aircraft at Whiting Field. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am pleased to play a key role in the rapid development of the military mission in Florida’s First Congressional District. I commend the Navy for working to harden the training mission at Whiting Field and will keep fighting to ensure the First Congressional District of Florida continues to enjoy major strides in our military readiness."
