Rep. Matt Gaetz is working on a bill to loosen federal restrictions on medical marijuana research and end the Department of Veterans Affairs' long-standing "gag rule" on alerting veterans about medical marijuana research trials near them.
The new information revealed by the Senate Homeland Security Committee about the FBI's alleged mishandling of the Hillary Clinton e-mail case -- including the FBI text "POTUS wants to know everything we're doing" -- raises "alarming questions about the extent of President Obama's involvement with FBI investigations," said House Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) in a Feb. 7 statement.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said that President Trump calls him on the phone periodically, and that he believes it's because he often comes to the president's defense on television.
"He cracks me up when he calls," Gaetz told BuzzFeed News.
"I think it’s because I defend him on television," the Florida Republican said, explaining why Trump calls him.
