Pensacola, Fla. (WEAR) - People across the country including those in Northwest Florida followed President Trump's United Nations speech closely.

Florida's 1st Congressional District Representative Matt Gaetz was very impressed by the speech.

It was also well received by others in the community.

Jacob Shively is an assistant professor at the University of West Florida.

He works in the Department of Government and focuses on international relations.

Shively watch President Trump to talk world leaders about his concerns with North Korea.

He said, "Really there is no leverage to try to force them to change short of military action."

In addition, he said, "It was an official speech and not simply a tweet or Trump speaking off the cuff. That raises a lot of questions is how is the U.S. getting more serious about war with North Korea."

Shively said the president must be careful with his choice of words.
