Gaetz on Triumph Funds

Congressman Matt Gaetz was in Northwest Florida speaking at Chumuckla Elementary School for Constitution Day.

Afterwards, he weighed in on the fine money from the BP oil spill.

Gaetz believes the money should go to projects that will last.

"My focus will be on making sure that money goes to infrastructure, roads, stormwater, bridges, things that will be here long after we're gone. Because this should be a generational gift that we have for Northwest Florida. It should not be frittered away on a bunch of small projects," Gaetz said.

Right now, the panhandle has $300 million from the settlement with another $1.2 billion on the way.
