Congressman Matt Gaetz took to his podcast on Tuesday to sharply assess why the United Nations (UN) defends the U.S. domestic terrorist organization "Antifa" while criticizing Attorney General William Barr.

"I hate when the United Nations criticizes the policies that make America the envy of the world. I look at the UN as an entity that is driven largely by the decisions of dictators. I mean there are more autocrats represented in the UN than there are democracies, and I don't know why we give them any credence. Recently, the UN making news, the UN Commission on Human Rights attacking U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr for designating Antifa a terrorist organization. I've covered Antifa very closely on the podcast. I am most taken by the coverage of Project Veritas, where they actually infiltrated Antifa and got recordings of Antifa leaders talking about the need to gouge people's eyes out when in a protest or in a riot, and their actions across the country have destabilized communities for the sake of political terror. That is the definition of domestic terrorism."

Congressman Gaetz also brought forth a central question to the UN and anti-American rioters:

"And so, frankly, I don't care much for the UN's advice on these questions and it brings into focus the macro question: why in the hell are we putting money into the UN anyway? And, you know, if the left now has adopted the mantra of "defund the police" in our communities in our neighborhoods to keep us safe, well, why are they so in favor of funding the global police at the UN? If we're going to defund the police, let's start by defunding the global police. Let's start by defunding the UN. If you want to look at just catastrophic abuses of human rights, go look up what some of these UN quote unquote "peacekeepers" have done when they've been put in various countries in North Africa, in the Middle East, in Sub Saharan Africa. It's awful. The rapes, the murders, the bribery, the corruption. So I don't think that the UN is in any position to throw shade at the American Attorney General, standing up for Americans and standing up against Antifa."
